Sealix®  is a new generation of brazed plate heat exchangers that creates a barrier against these issues and keeps water running longer.

Sealix® is a revolutionary SiO₂-based thin-film technology that increases corrosion resistance, decreases the tendency for fouling and scaling, and increases durability. A protective layer is applied to all surfaces that come into contact with water to increase the lifetime and operational safety of the entire system, reducing maintenance costs and unplanned downtime.

How Sealix® Keeps Water Running

Sealix® protects the surface of the heat exchanger and increases corrosion resistance. Customized chemical compounds modify the surface energy and enhance the mechanical and thermal stability. This improves the surface behaviour in terms of fouling and scaling, and maintains the high thermal and hydraulic performance of the brazed plate heat exchanger – and is well-suited for water to water applications.

Sealix® protects against corrosion

Sealix® treated and untreated copper-brazed stainless-steel samples were immersed in a salt/water solution at a temperature of 50°C and for a duration of 9 hours to visualize the significant difference in their corrosion resistance.

Already proven in practice

In Central Europe, a large number of Sealix® units have already been installed in domestic hot water systems, where they work without any problems – and exceed the operating time of the previously used standard products many times over.

Sealix® ENHANCED PRODUCTS

The new Sealix BPHE range features a protective layer on all inner surfaces of the BPHE, resulting in enhanced behavior in terms of metal leaching, scaling, fouling and corrosion while maintaining thermal and hydraulic performance. These products combine Sealix features with excellent heat transfer offering an increased life time solution for water to water applications. All BPHE parts in contact with water are covered by the SiO₂-based layer.
